Full Assignment and Treat Guidelines
Just a few reminders and elaborations about assignments and treats here!
Assignments
1. Don't talk about your assignment in namespace until after creator reveals. This will be on November 26 at 8PM PST unless otherwise noted by the mod.
2. All works must be posted on AO3. After the creator reveals, you may share them elsewhere.
3. Please don't share your work early.
4. If your assignment is incorrect in some way (for example, you've matched with someone who is requesting none of the ships you're offering), please contact the mod.
5. Please make sure your creation meets the minimum requirements (fic: at least 1000 words, art: 500,000px, detailed line work, vids: 1:30).
6. Don't create a work that includes your recipients DNWs.
7. You are only guaranteed to match on one ship and one creative medium.
8. You do not have to create a work for the ship you matched on. As long as you create a work for a ship your recipient has requested, even if it's one you didn't offer, you're fine.
9. Written gifts should be free of excessive spelling and grammar errors or it will not be accepted into the collection. I'll be making a beta reader post if you'd like to take advantage of that. If you have any concerns or would like to discuss this privately with me, please let me know by PM at spookykingdomstarlight.dreamwidth.org, IM over on the tumblr or by e-mail at litgirlnicole@gmail.com.
10. If you have any questions about your assignment, please don't hesitate to contact me in the usual places. PM me, spookykingdomstarlight, comment on a post here, find me over at the tumblr comm and leave an IM. E-mail me at litgirlnicole@gmail.com. Whatever works best for you.
11. Assignments are due by November 12th at 11:59PM PST.
12. The no-penalty default deadline is November 5th at 11:59PM PST. After that point, if you would like to participate in future rounds of this exchange, you'll have to create a gift that reaches the minimum requirements for works in this exchange for your recipient at some point before the next round starts. If you default before this date/time, you're free to participate the next time this exchange happens whether you create a treat for your original recipient or not.
13. Works will be revealed on November 19th at 8:OOPM PST. This is not the same date as creator reveals. There will be a week during which all gifts will be anonymous.
14. Creator reveals will occur on November 26th at 8:OOPM PST. This is the point at which you can talk about your stuff out in the world.
15. You are encouraged to update the date on your work on AO3 once the collection goes live so that you get a fair number of eyes on your work. If you don't edit the date on it, your work may not show up on the front page the way it would if you'd just posted a work that had not been in an unrevealed collection.
16. Go to your Assignment page on AO3, which you can find under the "Assignments" link on your Profile page, or on the Star Wars Rare Pairs Exchange subcollection page as "Your Assignment". You should see two buttons at the bottom of your assignment: "Post to fulfill", and "Default".
Click "Post to fulfill", and you'll be taken to a posting form. This will automatically post your gift into the current year's challenge. It also has your recipient's name already filled in. All you need to do is fill in the rest of the form, preview it to make sure it looks okay, and post.
Treats
1. Anyone can write treats, whether they're participating officially in the exchange or not.
2. Treats don't have to meet the minimum requirements (fic: 1000 words, art: 500,000 px, or vids: 1:30) that main works do. However, they do still need to respect the recipient's DNWs.
3. Treats will go into the main challenge collection. When you want to post a treat, go to the collection (here) and click the Post to Collection button. You will have to manually fill in the recipient's name in the Associations section in the box next to the line that says "Gift this work to", but after that, you're good to go.
4. Treats can be completed at any time, even after the end of the exchange.
5. Any treats written for a participant will not be promoted to a main work if that participant's creator defaults unless I really, really, absolutely cannot find a pinch hitter for them (and I promise I'll be trying my best to find pinch hitters for every participant who needs one) and it meets the minimum requirements for main works.
6.
dhampyresa and I will be keeping track of treats in a spreadsheet in case you want to focus your efforts on participants for whom a treat or treats has/have not been created. The spreadsheet can be found here. Each cell for each participant will show the total number of treats they have receive.
7. Please also don't talk about treats in name space until creator reveals happen.
Other than that, have fun! If you have questions/concerns, please contact me, etc. etc.
I hope you're all as excited as I am! Thanks again so much for taking part.
